One leafy vegetable we all love to eat is Jute Leaves. Common among the Yorubas and famously called “Ewedu”, this green slimy soup is a healthy meal. It is called Ahingbara in Igbo and Rama in Hausa. This vegetable is christened with names including, Molokhia or Corchorus Olitorus as its botanical name. Jute Mallow Leaves is very edible as it can be eaten raw, taken as a drink, boiled or prepared as a soup. It is usually blended, either with a manual blender or jute broom. It originated from Egypt and is a good source of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals.
